Leonardo DiCaprio was set to be the grand finale of the Palm Springs International Film Awards on Saturday, Jan. 3, but he was unable to attend the event amid airport snarls across California.
The actor, who was honored with the Desert Palm Achievement Award for his work in “One Battle After Another,” could not attend because of “unexpected travel disruptions and restricted airspace,” a Palm Springs International Film Festival spokesman told The Desert Sun, part of the USA TODAY Network. “While we will miss celebrating with him in person, we are honored to recognize his exceptional work and lasting contributions to cinema. His talent and dedication to the craft continue to inspire.”
