Thousands in Allegheny County lost power due to downed wires.
West Penn Power’s outage map showed that, initially, around 8 a.m., approximately 4,000 people were without power in Upper St. Clair and Bethel Park.
The Bethel Park Police Department said the widespread outage is due to multiple wires being down. A West Penn Power crew tells Channel 11 a car hit a utility pole around 7:30 a.m., shearing it and bringing down wires.
Several roads are closed because of the incident, including Bethel Church Road between Drake and Alton, and McMurray Road in front of St. Louise Church…
