KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WFRV) – A long-time Firefighter and Driver Operator in Kaukauna is calling it a career to the tune of celebration.

According to the Kaukauna Professional Firefighters Local 1594 and the Kaukauna Fire Department, Driver Operator/Paramedic Lonny Ziemer will walk out of the doors one final time on Monday, January 5.

Ziemer’s career with the Kaukauna Fire Department began on November 1, 1997, working his way up from a firefighter to a driver.

He worked many different shifts, and a variety of photos in the retirement posts showcased just how long and how much he did during his 28+ years of serving the Kaukauna area.

Both the union and the Kaukauna Fire Department thanked and wished him well in his retirement, which he’ll use to spend time with family, go hunting and sturgeon spearing while relaxing up north…
