CSPD: Woman rejects offered drugs, escapes car as purse stolen

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A woman was a victim of a robbery in the early morning hours of Saturday, Jan. 3, after she met a man in a bar and rejected drugs he offered while riding with him in his car, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

According to CSPD, at around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 3600 block of East Uintah Street, near North Academy Boulevard, after receiving reports of a robbery. When they arrived, officers learned that a woman had met a man at a bar and had continued communicating on social media. The woman was riding in a vehicle with the suspect when he offered her drugs.

CSPD reported that the woman rejected the offer and knocked the drugs out of the suspect’s hand before trying to get out of the vehicle. The suspect reached across her and closed the door to prevent her from getting out. The victim was able to get out of the car, but the suspect grabbed her purse and drove away as she was trying to get it back from him…
