Delta flight from Denver to Detroit diverted to Kansas City over engine ‘issue’

DENVER (KDVR) — A Delta Air Lines flight traveling from Denver to Detroit on Saturday was diverted to Kansas City after Delta says an “issue” was observed with one of the aicraft’s engines.

Delta told FOX31 that the plane, an Airbus A321, was on its way to Detroit Metropolitan Airport when its flight crew observed the engine issue, at which point the decision was made to divert it to Kansas City International Airport, where it landed safely.

The airline said, as of about 1:30 p.m., that it was working to secure a replacement plan to bring the impacted passengers to Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Delta said the diverted plane had 175 passengers and 6 crew members — including 2 pilots and 4 flight attendants — on board.
