Apparent microburst leads to scaffolding collapse at Murray construction site

MURRAY, Utah, Jan. 4, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Strong winds — the possible result of a microburst — knocked down scaffolding at a construction site in Murray late Saturday afternoon.

Murray firefighters were called to the Royce apartment complex near 4700 South 900 East about 5 p.m., according to Murray Fire Department Engineer Pride Alldredge.

When first responders arrived, they found a twisted pile of metal on the northwest side of the structure. No injuries were reported…
