ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Holly Holm’s quest for another world title was cut short on Saturday night. In her WBA lightweight championship fight in Puerto Rico against defending champion Stephanie Han, Holm lost by unanimous decision in the 7th round.
After a head-butt and a significant cut on Han’s forehead, the fight was stopped at 1:44 in the 7th. Since the fight had already passed the halfway mark, the judges went to the scorecards. The judges scored the fight 69-65, 69-64, and 68-65. All were in favor of Han.
