2nd fire in Summit neighborhood displaces 16 people, officials say

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Columbia-Richland fire crews responded to a fire involving multiple homes in The Summit subdivision in northeast Richland County, the second in two nights in the neighborhood.

According to officials, firefighters on 2nd Shift arrived on scene on Hidden Pines Road shortly after 11 p.m. to a home that was fully enveloped in flames, which were quickly spreading to a neighboring home. The fire prompted officers on scene to immediately call for a 2nd Alarm to dispatch more resources.

While the fire completely gutted the fully involved home, crews successfully saved the neighboring property. Officials said all occupants of both homes escaped safely, and there were no injuries…
