(WAHOO, NE)–(KFOR Jan. 3)–Just after 7 am Friday, Saunders County officers responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 77, three miles south of Wahoo. In a media release to KFOR News, Saunders County Sheriff Chris Lichtenberg said a 2005 Ford Explorer driven by 18-year-old Jack Van Slyke struck the rear end of a 2023 Mercedes GLB Utility vehicle driven by 81-year-old John Miller of Omaha. Miller was transported to Saunders Medical Center where he was later declared deceased. The passenger, 78-year-old Sheila Miller of Omaha was transported to Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln where she was later declared deceased. Jack Van Slyke was transported to Saunders Medical Center by ambulance with minor injuries.
