Parade Park developers share new safety measures while waiting for clearance to demolish

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Parade Park has seen more than a dozen fires in the last several months as the vacant building sit waiting to be demolished and transformed into housing for low-income and elderly residents.

On Sunday, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas shared a joint statement from Twelfth Street Heritage Development Corporation and Flaherty & Collins Properties, the developers behind Parade Park’s planned revitalization.

The developers shared a brief timeline of the property, pointing specifically to Dec. 9, 2025, when the project was awarded Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and Home Investement Partnerships Program funds.
