Let it Glow Winter Solstice Party 2025!

The Let it Glow Winter Solstice Party on December 20 was the latest example of how Santa Barbara Summer Solstice never ends! Here are my photos.

The party began inside and outside Longoria Wines on State Street. Environment Makers wizard Jonathan Smith did his magic projections outside.

Here people kindly posed at Longoria for me. Starting with Solstice artists Richard Osteen (L) and Jeremy Lamb (R).

Cynthia Brock (R) is a long time friend who used to be on the Goleta City Council.

Claudia Bratton (L) was past Solstice Executive Director and Penny Little (Center) is the current Executive Director.

Penny posed again here with her assistant Violet Coto and other revelers.

More revelers:

City Council Member Oscar Gutierrez posed with Nancy Tunnell (R) who you may recognize from her creative peace protests over the years.

Solstice Board President was directing things and also was riding one of his many illuminated tiny art cars!

Julia Bowerbank built a tiny art car of her own.

Brendan Carroll was giving rides in his tiny art car!

Long time Solstice performer and roller skater Justine Pannier posed with me.

A few more happy reveler photos!

Jeff Dutcher (R) is a long time Solstice artist who creates some of the funniest ensembles. You may remember his flamingos and rubber duckies ensembles. He posed with his husband David (L).

Left to Right: Solstice artists Brendan Carroll, Mae Logan, Bryan Snyder.

Not sure who is the woman at the left. But Dominique Reboul, Ronit Corry and Ron Glover are long time Solstice and Fishbon artists.

Here is one of several group photos as people gathered before the parade down State Street.

We had to take off soon for the ballet at the Granada. But I got this first video as the Brasscals started off the parade with the Low Rider song as people got energized for the walk…
