Roanoke gas prices up very slightly over the last week, substantially lower over the last year

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Average gasoline prices in Roanoke have risen 0.8 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.67 per gallon as of January 5, 2026, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 155 stations in Roanoke.

Prices in Roanoke are 12.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 18.5 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has decreased 2.3 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $3.498 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy price reports, the least expensive station in Roanoke was priced at $2.29/g Sunday, while the most expensive was $2.99/g, a difference of 70 cents per gallon. The lowest price in the state was $2.23/g while the highest was $3.99/g, a difference of $1.76/g…
