Several hospitals across the region rang in the new year by welcoming their first babies of 2026, with births reported on New Year’s Day in Knox, Daviess, and Warrick counties.
At Good Samaritan Hospital, Johanna Vanessa was the first baby born in 2026. She arrived at 7:08 Thursday morning on the hospital’s obstetrics unit, weighing 8 pounds, 2 ounces, and measuring 21 inches long.
