Another claim filed against Kern County over July Kern Transit Bus crash

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A passenger of a Kern Transit Bus that overturned near Lancaster back in July is accusing the bus driver of negligent and reckless driving in a new claim filed against the county, according to the Kern County Board of Supervisors agenda.

The claim said the county and its employees were responsible for the passenger’s injuries, as well as the bus driver who was named in the claim. 17 News is not reporting the name of the driver as there are no criminal charges filed against them.

According to the claim, the passenger was sitting near the front of the bus and saw an object striking the front windshield. The windshield shattered and the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off.
