KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A Kalamazoo man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being caught with 12lbs of methamphetamine during a traffic stop, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan Timothy VerHey announced Monday.
Brandon Lemar Baines, 36, was already on parole with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) after serving more than four years in prison for methamphetamine trafficking and a firearm offense when officers found the drugs in early 2025, according to VerHey.
VerHey added that Baines is the last of three people to be sentenced in relation to the meth seizure.
