RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – This week marks 30 years since the Blizzard of 1996 struck Virginia and much of the East Coast.
The powerful winter storm hit between Jan. 6 and Jan. 8, 1996, burying the Richmond area under at least a foot of snow. Some communities in western Virginia received two to three feet of snow.
