MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis leaders point to a drop in crime for 2025, but the new year is already off to a deadly start in the Bluff City.
It is the fifth day of 2026, and Memphis police are investigating at least four homicides that have occurred in 2026.
According to police reports, on Sunday night, Jan. 4, officers were called to the 1300 block of McMillan in South Memphis, where three people were shot. One man died on the scene.
