MassMu history group to discuss weather disasters

Do you remember the blizzard of 1978? Or the 1950 Thanksgiving snowstorm? Did you ever feel an earthquake in Massillon? How about the 1969 derecho’s sudden torrential rains that doused the city’s July 4 fireworks and sent crowds scrambling for home? Have you seen photos of the 1913 flood, when water covered most of downtown?

Bring stories, photographs or your curiosity to the Massillon Museum’s History Discussion Group session at 10 a.m. Jan. 6. Moderator Mandy Altimus Stahl will lead the group’s conversation about regional bad weather and natural disasters.
