Cedar Rapids school board considers intermediate school model to tackle budget deficit

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Cedar Rapids Board of Education held a special work session Monday to discuss the first part of a two-part budget strategy for the 2026-2027 school year.

In December, the district announced their preparation for budget cuts estimating between $10 million and $12 million for this upcoming school year.
