Savannah Guthrie Updates Fans After Vocal Cord Surgery: “All Good!”

Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie has shared a positive health update with her fans following her recent vocal cord surgery. Guthrie, 54, who announced in December that she would undergo the procedure to address vocal nodules and a polyp, posted an encouraging message on Instagram on Monday.

The TV personality shared a photo of herself with a dry-erase board displaying the words, “All good! Thanks for prayers and love!” Her post was captioned simply, “See you soon!”

Guthrie’s recovery requires a period of complete silence for several weeks. In December, when announcing her planned absence, she lightheartedly referenced a clip from The Brady Bunch where Peter Brady’s voice famously cracked.

“Some of you have noticed that my voice has been very scratchy and started to crack a little bit like Peter Brady, who was going through a change,” Guthrie explained on Today. “Well, I have found out what it is.

I have vocal nodules, and now I also have a polyp. It’s not a big, big deal, but I am going to have a surgery real early in the new year and be off for a couple of weeks.”

She also joked about the enforced silence, stating, “Totally silent. I know the jokes write themselves.

Christmas coming early for my family.” Guthrie, mother to Vale, 11, and Charley, eight, with husband Michael Feldman, had previously expressed her anticipation for the surgery, noting that the vocal issues had been ongoing for years.

The comments section of her Instagram post quickly filled with messages of support and well-wishes from colleagues and fans alike. Former co-host Hoda Kotb wrote, “Feel better my girlxxxx,” while Sheinelle Jones, who recently stepped into Kotb’s 10 a.m. Today slot, posted four red heart emojis.

There is no immediate information regarding Guthrie’s exact return date to the Today show.
