Mace floats sanctuary sheriff law at gubernatorial campaign stop

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) — With just a week before the 2026 legislative session is set to start, Rep. Nancy Mace is floating a new state law that she hopes a state lawmaker will sponsor.

Mace stood on the steps of the statehouse on Tuesday morning to lay out the types of proposals she would support if she were elected governor later this year. Mace has sprinkled legislative ideas throughout her active campaign as recently as this past Saturday, when she proposed a bill, she is calling the Aggravated Voyeurism Act.
