12 Responds helps scam victim get his money back

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Derek Barden fell victim to a phishing scam where a bad actor pretended to be from his bank and claimed his account had fraudulent activity.

Barden said the con was so convincing that he ended up handing over his banking information, but he quickly noticed he was out more than $2,000.

After TD Bank’s claims department was unable to reverse the transaction, he turned to 12 Responds for help…
