FOLSOM, Calif — An iconic bald eagle nest near Lake Natoma collapsed Sunday amid heavy wind and rain, but the resident eagles were recently seen together, giving local wildlife watchers hope.
Kathy Kayner, who monitors the nest for Friends of Lakes Folsom and Natoma (FOLFAN), said the tree holding the nest fell sometime during Sunday night or early morning.
