The Santa Barbara County Health Department has recognized County Animal Services Director Sarah Aguilar following her appointment to a national animal welfare leadership council and designation as a “2025 Local Hero.”
Aguilar was appointed to the Best Friends Network Strategy Council — a national coalition focused on advancing best practices in animal sheltering — and recently honored during a local community heroes event highlighting locals whose work has made a lasting impact on the community.
