U-Haul truck rentals show uptick in Massachusetts arrivals

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – U-Haul has released its new migration trend data, which shows that Massachusetts is in the 46th growth state for 2025, marking an improvement from 49th place in 2024.

This ranking reflects a net-migration increase, with in-migration accounting for 48.2% of one-way U-Haul traffic to the state. Year-over-year, arrivals to Massachusetts have risen by 3%, while departures have similarly increased by 2%. The last time Massachusetts ranked above 46th was in 2016 when it held the 42nd position.
