Durham Announces MLK Day Service Changes With City Facilities Closed, Altered Trash Pickup, and GoDurham Schedule Adjustments

As the nation prepares to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., the City of Durham has announced several service changes for the holiday. According to a recent release by the City of Durham, city offices, including City Hall and all non-emergency facilities, will be closed to the public on January 19.

The Durham Environmental and Street Services will also observe the holiday by closing, which means that the usual Monday garbage, recycling, and yard waste collections are pushed to January 20, with the other collection days remaining as scheduled, in the weekly rotation residents will receive collection day alerts and reminders for holiday service changes through the department’s web page or the Durham Rollout app.
