Fire breaks out in Roanoke home; victims found, rescued and hospitalized

ROANOKE Va. (WFXR) – On Tuesday morning, Roanoke Fire EMS Department (REMS) was dispatched to the 2600 block of Cedarhurst Ave NW for a reported structure fire.

Crews were dispatched at 10:49 a.m. following a 911 call that mentioned victims were likely still inside the home.

According to REMS, the arriving crews saw heavy smoke and fire showing from the front of the residence. The call was upgraded to a working fire, followed by a request for two additional medic trucks and rescue supervisor…
