BOTETOURT COUNTY Va. (WFXR) – A skunk was confirmed positive for rabies by the Virginia Department of Health in central Botetourt County.
The skunk was collected on January 1, near Loope Lane and Wheatland Road in Buchanan, Va.
Virginia Department of Health asks individuals to contact Roanoke City and Allegheny Health Districts (RCAHD) Environmental Health Division at 540-204-9764 or Botetourt Animal Control if you know of any possible human or animal contact with this animal.
