FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) High schoolers in Franklin County will soon have another option after graduation to pursue careers. After a special Rocky Mount Town Council meeting Monday night, the council unanimously approved a special use permit to build a $5 million multipurpose facility at the old Mod-U-Kraf site.
It will house a public safety office, a 911 operating center, and the new Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center that is expected to bring the region new opportunities.
“I think we’re all excited because we needed a CTE Center for a long time,” Rocky Mount mayor Holland Perdue said. “It’s needed. The children need it. The businesses need it. And the workforce is going to get a great group of kids coming out of that CTE Center.”…
