One of Amarillo‘s great local places to eat is Yellow City Street Food. They have been a part of the Amarillo landscape since 2013, serving up great food with plenty of vegan options as well.
One of their amazing menu items is their Animal Fries. If you go to enjoy a meal there, make sure you order the fries as well.
What Happened With In-N-Out
However, recently the restaurant has had to make a major change because a national chain restaurant owns the right to call their fries Animal Fries or Animal Style Fries. In-N-Out holds the trademark on the terms Animal Fries and Animal Style Fries.
In-N-Out is serious about its fries, so much so that it sent a cease-and-desist letter to the owners of Yellow City Street Food to stop using the term animal fries to describe their fries on the menu.
So what did Yellow City Street Food do? They took the lemon and turned it into lemonade, or better yet, they turned their fries into a new branding moment.
They asked their fans and social media followers to help them rebrand their version of Animal Fries to a new name. That new name is Tiger Style Fries!
From Animal Fries To Tiger Fries
@ogyellowcity As of Jan 1st 2026, our YCSF Animal Fries are now TIGER STYLE FRIES!! In N Out has the word “Animal” trademarked and has sent out thousands of Cease & Desist letters around the nation. Lol. Thanks for noticing us, INO! We decided on TIGER STYLE as an obvious connection to our brand, and as a homage to Wu Tang!! LFG!!! Thank you, to everyone who joined the renaming chat yesterday! You rule! #tigerstyle#yellowcity#newyearnewname#lfg#ycsf♬ Upside Down – Original CHIC Mix – Diana Ross…
