Victim’s family finds ‘closure’ in Ledbetter sentence

CANTON, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls man is headed to prison for manslaughter.Jimmie Ledbetter Jr. was sentenced today for the 2024 killing of Angela Scholl, who was in the process of divorcing him.

In October of 2024, Ledbetter claims he went to Scholl’s house to talk and ultimately strangled her. He pleaded guilty one year later. Tuesday, Ledbetter learned his fate and Scholl’s family has some closure.

Angela Scholl was a mother, sister, daughter and aunt.
