NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The North Charleston Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with the assault of a man and theft of his moped.
Anthony Lamar Thompson, 32, is charged with strong-arm robbery, first-degree assault and battery and possession of cocaine base, jail records state.
Officers responded to a reported assault on the 3300 block of Spruill Avenue on Dec. 23. The victim was reportedly riding his moped along Proctor Avenue when two men pulled him off the vehicle and began attacking him. One of the suspects then stole the moped and fled toward the road.
A week later, an officer patrolling Spruill and Proctor Avenues recognized one of the wanted suspects as Thompson. He was taken into custody and sent to the Al Cannon Detention Center…
