DETROIT (WWJ) A Detroit man was charged with First Degree Murder and a list of additional crimes for a deadly shooting at a lounge on the city’s west side.
Michael Harris, 42, is charged with killing Jalen Coats Stevens, 28, also of Detroit. The charges–brought by Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy–also include Felony Firearm and Resisting and Obstruction an Officer.
Police said the shooting happened on January 4 at a lounge on Grand River at Provost, near Greenfield. Officers received a call shortly before 1:05 a.m. of a stabbing at the lounge. When they arrived on scene, their investigation indicated a dispute between Harris and Coats Stevens escalated to gunfire.
