Fort Wayne Weighs New Rules on Homeless Encampments

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) Fort Wayne city leaders are considering changes to city code that would give police more authority to remove or ban homeless encampments.

The discussion comes after the city cleared a camp under the Veterans Memorial Bridge that had spilled onto the Rivergreenway Trail before Christmas. Cleanup efforts were completed by early January.
