Arena Dinner Theatre will present a relatively new play Jan. 16-31, but it’s one that has a familiar premise.
Penned by Douglas Lyons and premiering in 2020, Chicken & Biscuits centers on the Jenkins family, who are coming together for the funeral of their father. Amid the normal interactions and altercations that may come about when family members come together after long periods of time apart, a family secret is thrown in to stoke the fire.
“So, there’s an estranged daughter that comes to the funeral,” directed Prentis Moore said. “She never met her father. She wanted to honor her father but also meet the other extension of her family.”…
