My Brother’s BBQ is slow-smoked perfection

PORT ST. LUCIE — A New Year’s tradition in my family has always been a southern menu created to entice good health, wealth and luck. Staples of this annual menu include pork, green beans or collard greens, cornbread and black-eyed peas. With only the two of us home for dinner this year, my husband and I were in search of a local restaurant that could come close to providing a menu that held up to our tradition.

A quick Google search of black-eyed peas and cornbread brought up My Brother’s BBQ and while the menu was not exactly what we were looking for, it was close enough to warrant a visit.

Walking through the doors of this comfortable, warm and inviting locale, we were immediately greeted with that familiar, smokey aroma that sent our senses into overdrive looking for “the meat”. And boy, did we find it!…
