Cops catch Boystown armed robber in under 2 minutes

Chicago cops needed less than two minutes to arrest an armed man who robbed a Boystown convenience store early Monday morning.

At about 3:22 a.m., a man walked into the 7-Eleven, 3407 North Halsted Street, displayed a gun, and took the store’s registers, according to a preliminary CPD report. While the robber scurried across the store’s parking lot with the registers, a 911 caller reported the robbery in progress.

Officers on patrol quickly spotted 33-year-old Antonio Robinson running behind an alley in the 800 block of West Roscoe Street, just across Halsted from the store. The cops detained Robinson after a short foot pursuit and recovered a handgun, according to CPD…
