Suspect Drunk Driver Flees School Campus Pick-Up Line in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, TX – A multi-county vehicle pursuit involving a suspected intoxicated driver came to a safe conclusion after coordinated efforts by multiple Texas law enforcement agencies, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The incident began when officers with the Venus Independent School District Police attempted to make contact with a driver trying to pick up a child from a school campus. The driver refused to stop and fled, prompting a pursuit that extended from Johnson County into Tarrant County. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office assumed primary responsibility once the pursuit entered the unincorporated area of Johnson County, with continued assistance from Venus Police Department. Additional support was provided by Alvarado Police, Burleson Police, and Fort Worth Police.
