SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A new Arkansas law allows law enforcement agencies to seek reimbursement for police training costs when officers leave for other departments.
Act 748, signed into law in April 2025, amends existing statutes governing law enforcement training reimbursements and extends the reimbursement period after training completion.
The law expands the reimbursement window from 18 to 24 months after completion of training. Agencies can recover 100% of costs if they hire an officer within 12 months of training, or 50% if hired between 12 and 24 months…
