NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Mayor-elect Helena Moreno reaffirmed Tuesday that her administration will move forward with New Orleans Police Department retention payments, despite a lack of remaining American Rescue Plan Act funding previously set aside for the bonuses.

Moreno said she has confirmed with the State Legislative Auditor that the city’s payroll Revenue Anticipation Note can be used to cover the unfunded NOPD obligations.
