Mother calls for fatal hit-and-run driver to turn themselves in

DENVER — For the past three days, Shirley Brown has been hoping for news of an arrest of whoever hit her son and then drove off, leaving him to die on the side of the road just south of downtown.

The fatal impact happened just before 8 p.m. on Friday as Angelo Simpson was crossing North Kalamath Street at West 11th Avenue.

Denver Police said the driver of a grey Honda Accord Crosstour who was headed south hit Simpson, then drove off after the impact. The agency released one blurry still image of the suspect vehicle through a Crimes Stopper alert…
