The Washington State Patrol had issued an alert for a stolen vehicle, which led to a pursuit and the arrest of two suspects. Authorities later determined that the individuals were also connected to a burglary in Roy. According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, the suspects, ages 19 and 17, were taken into custody and were found to be in possession of firearms.
Last Saturday, deputies again worked with the Washington State Patrol to pursue a speeding vehicle that reached speeds of up to 120 mph on Highway 512. Puyallup police deployed stop sticks, causing a tire to fail, but the vehicle continued toward State Route 167 before the driver and one passenger fled on foot. According to a Pierce County Sheriff’s Department blog post, the male passenger was later found in a nearby swampy area and taken into custody. While awaiting search warrants, officers observed an AR-style rifle and a pistol inside the vehicle.
