For more than four decades, a small shop at Stuyvesant Plaza has been a familiar stop for people looking for something a little different. This boutique has thoughtfully chosen jewelry to accessories, and clothing you do not see everywhere else.
Silver Parrot has built a reputation for quality, creativity, and a very personal shopping experience. Owner Clint Hegeman opened the store 41 years ago and spent those years curating collections, working directly with customers, and doing what he loved every day.
In a Facebook message, Hegeman reflected on his long time in the space, calling it the best job ever. He said being his own boss and connecting with shoppers made the work deeply satisfying, but acknowledged that time eventually catches up with everyone. With that in mind, he has decided it is time to retire and begin a new chapter.
Silver Parrot, along with Hegeman’s website Urban Sterling Silver, will close on Saturday, February 28th, 2026. Between now and then, everything in the store is being offered at 20 percent off. Customers are encouraged to stop in and redeem any gift cards before the final day of February…
