Augusta Juvenile Court awarded $1 million+ over next three years, first time ever

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Augusta’s Juvenile Court said Wednesday it has secured “a competitive multi-year grant” that will help the department expand programming for youth and prevent gang violence.

According to officials, the Court was awarded $335,000 annually for three years, totaling more than $1 million, the first time Augusta–Richmond County has received this award.

Several members of Augusta leadership wrote letters in support of the grant, including those from the Superior Court, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, commissioners and community partners…
