PennDOT Plow Driver Rescues Wandering Dog from Road

What started as a normal workday on winter roads quickly turned into a rescue mission for a very lucky dog. While clearing a roadway ramp, Chris Starocci, a PennDOT plow driver noticed a dog loose in the road.

Fearful of the dog being struck by a vehicle, he stopped and retrieved the dog from any imminent danger. The dog was then taken to the PennDOT station where staff members stepped in to help. The dog was cleaned up, fed, and then taken to the ANNA Shelter to receive proper care. Starocci named the dog “Lucky” a name perfect for Lucky’s situation.

While Lucky was in fact Lucky, this story shows more than just a dog saved, it showcases the dedication of all PennDOT employees to keep the entire community safe, even the furry friends within the community…
