Creedmoor water discussions set for Jan. 20

Discussion of two matters related to water quality in Creedmoor — initially planned for a meeting this week — has been delayed until the Jan. 20 work session of the Creedmoor Board of Commissioners.

The proposed agenda for the board’s Jan. 6 meeting included a discussion of a proposal to provide home water filtration systems for low- and moderate-income residents who request them, but when the agenda was adopted that item was moved to the work session scheduled for later this month.

The motion by Commissioner Ed Gleason to move the discussion to Jan. 20 passed 3-2, with Mayor pro tem Archer Wilkins and Commissioner Darryl Moss voting against it. Wilkins said he saw no reason to delay the discussion.

Also at the Jan. 6 meeting, City Manager Mike Turner recommended that, based on good results in the water quality testing that has been done by Pace Analytical, the board discontinue the testing to ease budgetary pressures…
