Ascension St. Vincent updates visitor rules for Evansville, Warrick County

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Ascension St. Vincentexplains in an effort to protect patients and families, visitors and each other, as well as limit the spread of the virus, Ascension St. Vincent Evansville and Ascension St. Vincent Warrick are implementing visitor restrictions, effective January 9.

Officials note these restrictions will assist the hospital in limiting the spread of viruses and ensuring that the hospital is best equipped to provide “exceptional” care to its patients.

Ascension says information regarding these restrictions will be shared via multiple channels:

  • Signage will be placed at the entrances to the hospital’s sites of care.
  • Registration and schedulers will inform patients of the restrictions when they register and/or schedule their appointments.
  • Letters and notifications will be sent to associates and providers.
  • Nursing leaders will share information with patients using the approved letter during rounds.

Ascension says these are the visitation guidelines:

  • Visitation will be limited as follows:
    • No visitors with respiratory-like illness, fever or cough
    • No visitors under the age of 18, unless they are a parent of a patient
    • Limit of two visitors at a time
    • Patients in Pediatric Units and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – in addition to the above:
      • Visitation will be limited to two visitors at a time, who may be any of:
        • Two parents/guardians
        • Four designated adults identified by the parents/guardians, not to exceed a total of six designated adults
  • Visitors with special circumstances:
    • Associates should consult with department and hospital leadership for exceptions to these visitor restrictions, e.g., critically or terminally ill patients or patients who need additional support

A spokesperson says, “Thank you for your support and diligence as we continue to maintain a healthy environment for all those who enter our doors.”…
