RTA driver who put out blaze: ‘Nice to help somebody’

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Greater Dayton RTA bus driver who swung into action last month when he saw a home on fire told 2 NEWS it was “nice to help somebody.”

Tim Hecker was driving his route at approximately 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, when he saw the blaze in the 2600 block of Lakeview Avenue.

He rushed in to help those inside and then grabbed a fire extinguisher to help put out the flames.
