Home in Sacramento’s Oak Park neighborhood demolished after fire, explosions

Firefighters are battling a house fire and reports of explosions in Sacramento’s Oak Park neighborhood, crews said late Wednesday morning.

Around 11:30 a.m., Sacramento firefighters responded to 37th Street in the area of 7th Avenue, finding heavy smoke coming from a single-story home and hearing multiple explosions.

Before crews arrived, the Sacramento Fire Department said there was a very loud explosion that knocked things off the neighbors’ walls. A next-door neighbor’s home had its windows blown out from either the heat or the explosions…
