MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Juan Carlos Rodriguez Romero, 54, has been indicted on two counts of assaulting a federal officer with a dangerous weapon and one count of assaulting a federal officer.
U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen says on December 21, 2025, ICE deportation officers tried to arrest Rodriguez Romero in St. Paul. As a Cuban citizen subject to removal, Rodriguez was stopped by uniformed ICE agents. Rosen says Rodriguez Romero refused commands and attempted to flee, accelerating his car toward officers on foot.
